OIW Nordic Edtech Humanitarian Aid Challenge – Workshop

How can partnerships between humanitarian organisations and the Nordic Edtech Industry ensure quality learning is made available for people living in conflict areas and crisis?
Join us! We are looking for educators, designers, students, refugees and Nordic edtech companies to solve specific, global challenges from the field of education and learning in crisis, presented by Save the Children.



9 – 10am Opening keynotes (open to the public)
Kristoffer Gandrup-Marino – Chief of Innovation, UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen: Gandrup-Marino will talk about the UN’s perspective on innovation, as well as barriers and opportunities in collaboration and partnerships with SDG’s innovators.

Johan Brand – Founder, Kahoot!, Captain, E/One. Partner, We Are Human Brand will talk about working with humanitarian aid and learning from an edtech business perspective.

10am – 3pm EdChallenge Workshop
Teams will be formed with edtech companies and work on solutions – existing, adapted or new. Representatives from the humanitarian sector will be your mentors.
We will also provide information on how to bring forward innovative ideas and partnerships that can provide solutions to humanitarian challenges, including funding and support from Innovation Norway.

3 – 4pm Presentation of ideas (open to the public)
Each team is expected to present their ideas for solutions.

4 – 5pm Informal networking


The day will finish with the OIW afterwork from 5pm.
