The first ever Nordic Edtech Award was taken away by Sweden´s Lexplore, beating Norwegian Differ, Finnish Mightifier, EduLab Matematikfessor from Denmark and Kara Connect from Iceland. The Award had an incredible response when launched in September 2017, with over 60 applications from all over the Nordics.
The award aims to identify, showcase and recognise the most promising edtech startups from the Nordics. All entries will be screened and the winner will be picked by a top-class jury during the final in Oslo in September. Prizes include a space at the Entrepreneurial Marketing Program for Creative Tech at Nordic Innovation House New York, and a place in the xEdu Accelerator Spring 2019 in Helsinki.
In 2017 the Nordic Edtech Award final was hosted in Helsinki at the XcitED event in collaboration with Slush. The prize was awarded at the same time as we launched the Nordic Edtech Alliance. Educational technology is one of the five fastest growing markets in the world, attracting heavy investments. And edtech companies from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Sweden are starting to make some serious international noise. Now these countries´ ecosystems are partnering to show the world the quality and potential of Nordic edtech.
The Nordic Edtech Alliance is a partnership between Nordic edtech communities and actors. The aims of Nordic Edtech Alliance are to support and profile Nordic edtech internationally, where the Nordic values of Equality, Democracy, Quality, Motivational Learning and Efficiancy are at the core. The goal is to attract Nordic and International investors to invest in Nordic edtech companies and to build bridges to international markets for Nordic Edtech companies and suppliers. The Nordic Edtech Award is NEAs first cooperative initiative.
